Maternity Session Preview

I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph this beautiful couple. They are expecting their first child in a week. Thank you J & N for letting me capture these images for you.

J- I wish you all the best during your delivery. I can’t wait to meet the new little one.

I love it when my children will pose for me and let me get some practice in. I especially love it when during these little sessions I manage to get a shot that I love. This is a pose that I saw on a photography forum. I knew it was something that I wanted to try with all four of my children. On this day, I asked my oldest if he would let me practice on him. My youngest wasn’t as cooperative but I started shooting and got some really good ones. I was only wanting to work on the lighting and didn’t plan on keeping any of the pictures since it didn’t include all of my children. Once I started editing them I couldn’t bring myself to not keep the images. I know this photo isn’t techincally perfect but I still love it. I will definately try this pose again, next time will all four of my children. Until then- meet my oldest and my youngest…..

I absolutely loved this “mini” session. She was a little goofy at times but all of her images turned out amazing. I was able to try out my new home made backdrop and absolutely love how in looks it these pictures. This drop is a perfect size for newborns and young children, so if you know anyone who might want to schedule a session – send them my way. As a reminder, I am currently building a portfolio and have a special running on my website for anyone who books a session with me during this time.

Here is a sneak peek-

I posted this photograph on Flickr a couple days ago and was so surprised to see that it was ranked high enough to make it into Explore.

For anyone who isn’t familiar with Explore, it is a Flickr feature with the intent to show you “some of the most awesome photos on flickr.” Photos are automatically selected by computer according to a secret algorithm called Interestingness. All photos are given a score and the top 500 photos ranked by interestingness are shown in Explore.

How awesome to see my photo showcased in Explore! Needless to say I was thrilled.

Outdoor Child Session

A sneak peek into an outdoor session. Typically an on-location session will take place in a park or a nice scenic spot where the background can provide beautiful landscape. Here we went up to Anthem and found a gorgeous spot with the waterfalls. Lots of green foliage and flowers- made for a lovely backdrop. Had some little chairs to pose him on, and away I went snapping pictures. Here are a few of my favorite -

She calls this her “Attitude Session”

It’s time to post my favorite photos! Running a little late but here they are- from July. My favorite thing about these are how much this little 3 1/2 year old loves these pictures.

She loves to pose and she is one of the most photogenic little girls I have ever seen. I just kept shooting and often told her to “show me your attitude.” She made the session easy and fun!

‘M’- Can’t wait to do another session with you!
