Aileen: Hi Kimberly, Just a note to say I stumbled across your work on Flickr. I am an available light photographer in Seattle (primarily children/families) looking to upgrade my equipment to add lights and was just peeking at children's images analyzing how different people are doing their lighting and I have to say that yours are some of the best children's portraits I have come across. The color, lighting, props, expressions are all incredibly well done. And at the risk of invoking the old-adage "great meal, what pans did you use," I am curious if you would be willing to share what lens you primarily use and what lighting set up you use. I know this is asking a lot, but I am having a very difficult time researching lights as it is hard to find images that correspond to different lighting set ups. So many images don't share how the lighting was achieved and so many lighting reviews with no images! I know I am taking a stab in the dark (pun intended) in asking you to share info about your equipment, but I found myself thinking the best way to improve is to find people that do something well (in a non-competing area of course!) and ask for a little guidance. As a mom of three myself, I know your time is scare with four of your own, but I hope you'll consider sharing some lighting recommendations for a portable lighting set up so I can take my work to the next level.
