While setting up for a newborn session my two year old comes in and walks to me and says “My turn!” He then gets into this position for me to take the shot. I was only able to get two quick images but I really do love them both. I’m always happy when he wants to be photographed. Here is one of the two I managed to get out of him before he felt like our little session was over. Hey, I’ll take what I can get. Especially when they are this adorable….

Session Sneak Peek | Miss “C”

I had the wonderful pleasure of photographing this adorable 2 month old.

She was such a little sweetheart. She didn’t really agree with my idea of getting her to sleep to pose her for sleeping shots but I have to say I do love that I was able to capture her beautiful eyes.

These 4 adorable children belong to me! We have had quite a busy summer: went on a camping trip with neighbors and friends, went to Illinois to attend a wedding, and then another camping trip with those same neighbors and friends. We always have such a great time with them. I took my camera in hopes of getting some amazing pictures and although the children were dirty the entire time I did manage to get some that I really love. These two fall into that category.

I’m excited to announce that I have been working on some great deals for the holidays. I am going to offer mini session, for the first time, that will include your holiday cards! Updates with information will be posted soon. It’s never too early to schedule your holiday session…. The time goes by quickly and session dates fill up fast.

Isn’t he precious. After he fell asleep I put him down and he just slept so soundly. I was able to snap a few shots of him in this position before he moved a bit. The vertical image is getting printed Big! (that one is my favorite!!)

I adore this! Seriously, I had so much fun with my two year old yesterday. I set up my stuio and had plans to get shots of him. Only problem was that he didn’t want to. I decded to get into the pictures with him and that is when this moment happened. He put his arms around me and just smiled. I loved it. I quickly took the shot using my remote and am so glad I was able to get a picture as wonderful as this. I have so many more that I think are just as great and will share them too soon. Until then,

My daughter and her cousin are the sweetest of friends. They are the cutest little 4 year olds around. We thought it was so adorable when they each did their own hair and came to me to do a photo shoot. The band aid on “M’s” arm and the scratch on “S’s” elbow makes the photo even better! Here is a favorite shot from their little mini session with me. :)

Another share of my darling neice. She loves to take pictures and is always asking me if we can do a photo shoot. (of course! I say.  Give me a willing subject and I’m all in.)

I really love taking her picture, she is forever giving me wonderful images to add to my portfolio and photography blog.

Studio Session

I love these two photographs that I took during a family holiday session. The family was a delightful group and we managed to get great shots of all 5 of them. These two shots just take my breath away.

It has been super busy for me. I have been slacking in the blogging department and adding previews and session updates has been pushed back while I continue to edit and prepare photos for clients. I have a few favorites to share from some of my recent sessions this past week.

Here is one that I just loved from the “C” family session.

Session Preview

Here is a sneak peek at my session with Little Miss “S”. It took her a little bit of time to warm up but as you can see she finally gave us a smile. I love her serious look. She was sure that she didn’t want any part of a photoshoot. But her mother, grandmother and I continued to sing and play while taking pictures. It was cute to see her warming up to my children. I have a son the same age as “S” and seeing the two of them hug over and over had us all feeling joyful.

They are so sweet at this age!

Session Preview – Infant Photography Session

I loved this session so much! This little four month old was a pleasure to photograph.  Her parents came with several adorable outfits for her. Little Miss “A” looked so cute in all of them.

Here is a sneak peek for you- Enjoy!!

And a favorite of mine-

More to come! Check back soon.

Not really. (photoshoot gone bad, that is.) The story behind it goes like this- I quickly threw together this set-up, hoping to get a picture of my children before we left for our Thanksgiving dinner. Needless to say the four of them didn’t really want to cooperate. If one was paying attention and ready then another one was frustrated (namely the baby!) So out of the couple dozen that I took this was the best one. I may try this shoot again, hoping they participate a little better… but until then I thought I’d share this shot.

I love sharing my storyboard creations. Here is a custom made 10×10 storyboard. I used it for both children and think the results look beautiful. Storyboards are a fun way to showcase a series of photographs as you can see in the examples below.

Happy Halloween!

Here are my little scary (and not so scary) trick-or-treaters. Don’t they look so cute!

The look that melts any mothers heart. When you can look into the eyes of a child and see deep into their soul. Children and so full of innocence and wonder. I love being able to capture that on film.  They always seem to amaze me.

This little cutie is my nephew, he is 5 years old. Just started kindergarten this year and is learning to write his name. Check out his adorable backwards y and c. Love it!

Thought I’d share a black and white from his session. It’s pictures like this that makes child photography my passion. I love how I am able to capture a moment.

A Storyboard

Here is a 10×20 storyboard that I created. I thought that so many pictures from this session turned out cute. Usually he gives me a run for my money but this time it was a lot easier to get some good shots.

My children are my ‘always available’ photography subjects. They are put to the test when I have new props or backdrops to play with, or when I am just needing to pick up the camera for a creative outlet.

Yes, I do have days where if I don’t have anything else to shoot I go searching for something and usually that something ends up being one (or more) of my children.

Alright, isn’t this an amazing shot? The angle is one of my favorites to shoot from. I also love how his face is in focus and his body and the background are blurred. (Keeping the focus on his adorable face.) I am drawn straight to his eyes. I’ve had a hard time getting unposed shots of him lately, he just runs around and is a busy body all the time. But I was so pleased to have snapped this one. He has my heart.
